House on a Hill

PROJECT DETAILS

An art collection full of unique treasures from around the world makes the Overhill Residence one-of-a-kind. Designed for entertaining as well as hosting grandchildren, the home has well-defined public and private spaces across multiple levels, cleverly built into a hillside in Highland Park.

After entering through the front gate, a discreet audio system surrounding the pool welcomes guests as they approach the front door. Expansive windows and glass door systems throughout the home called for custom, large motorized shades. Discreet touchpads throughout the home control lighting, music, motorized shades and security cameras.

On the main level, the formal living area is filled with natural light through a series of 4 french door systems with high windows above each with its own motorized shade panel that lowers from ceiling down to floor.

The split staircase to the second level features an expansive window equipped with a motorized shade that can be lowered from the ceiling to soften the sunlight when needed. Private spaces for the owners and their grandchildren are on the second floor. Motorized shades provide privacy in the primary bedroom and bathroom while linear tape lighting helps illuminate personal items in the primary closet.

A lower level playroom offers grandkids their own space with plenty of shelves for books and toys along with a large TV screen for movie-time.

This multi-level residence with modern and artful details is a perfect example of how we use discreet technology to ensure that the art and architecture are the primary focus of the home.
